Driving In Borrowed Car Mix

I wrote this mix for a car trip home just before Christmas, but I've since updated it to include a few other good songs. I originally meant to post it before New Year's Eve, but I've been sidetracked listening to podcasts. Click here to get it!

Track 1 - Sister Surround by The Soundtrack Of Our Lives
I first heard this song on my great, new Sirius Satellite Radio. This is from a 2002 album. Oh, and they're Swedish, not that you could ever tell.

Track 2 - Do You Want To by Franz Ferdinand
I was a little disappointed by Franz Ferdinand's follow-up album (You Could Have It So Much Better), but this track is a stand out.

Track 3 - Everyday I Love You Less and Less by Kaiser Chiefs
The Kaiser Chiefs are huge in the UK, but they haven't made much impact in the US. They're catchy fun pop though.

Track 4 - In This Home On Ice by Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah
Brooklyn's unofficial "band of the year". Yes, the lead singer sounds like David Byrne. The guitar intro to this song is pure 80's to me.

Track 5 - I Summon You by Spoon
Spoon is fantastic. I'm not sure what it means that this song was #2 on Steven King's top songs of 2005 list (as shown in entertainment weekly). I didn't like anything else on his list.

Track 6 - Timorous Me by Ted Leo & The Pharmacists
Ted Leo is a very underappreciated artist. Appreciate him damn you!

Track 7 - You're Beautiful by James Blunt
For TT. Another Brit.

Track 8 - My Doorbell by The White Stripes
The band that saved rock-n-roll still turns out good songs.

Track 9 - I Predict A Riot by The Kaiser Chiefs
More from the Kaiser Chiefs. This is probably their biggest hit.

Track 10 - Sweet Troubled Soul by Stellastarr
Stellastarr (Brooklyn's unofficial band of the year three years ago) delivered a lackluster sophomore album. This track is my favorite though.

Track 11 - Sing Me Spanish Techno by The New Pornographers
Not techno and not in Spanish, for those of you who were worried.

Track 12 - Hung Up by Madonna
I am not a Madonna fan, but this album is clearly my favorite of anything she's ever done.

Track 13 - Love + Pain by Clor
I love these guys. Your mileage may vary.

Track 14 - Wrong Time Capsule by Deerhoof
If this is your first experience with Deerhoof, give the song at least three listens. It will grow on you. Trust me.
